Why The Turkish Get Up?

The Turkish Get Up is a very multi-faceted strength exercise

This exercise has been around for over 200 years! So it’s the real deal!

It does take a bit of time to learn the movement

However, when you do get on top of it all

You’ll reap so many rewards for your efforts

Here’s a short and sweet rundown of all the benefits of the Turkish Get Up

  • There’s core work involved

  • A demand on shoulder mobility and stability developing into strength

  • You have to focus on good posture throughout the movement

  • It can uncover different weaknesses throughout the body (so it can be a good tool for assessing movement)

  • There’s lunging involved, so you have to work on leg strength too

  • It’s just a great strength exercise, which is performed in several different positions

If you haven’t tried the Turkish Get Up before, then it’s certainly worth giving it a go
